How does this help with my renewal requirement?

Ready Literacy supports preparation for the exam pathway. You study with the course, then take a state-approved exam separately. Passing that exam—not buying or completing this prep course—is what qualifies under the exam pathway.

Can I study around my existing schedule?

Yes. The course is online and self-paced, with no scheduled class meetings. Choose study times that fit your work and personal commitments.

What does the course price cover?

The offer is prep-course access for one teacher at $119 or for 10 teachers at $999. Exam registration is a separate step. The 10-teacher package saves $191 compared with ten individual course purchases.

How long does my access last?

12 months or until July 1, 2028, whichever comes first. If your seat comes from your school, the 12 months start when you accept the invitation.

Who is this the right next step for?

Educators who still need to meet the Kansas Science of Reading renewal requirement and have chosen the exam pathway. If you already completed qualifying training or have the Seal of Literacy, confirm your status before purchasing.

What is the Kansas requirement and when does it apply?

KSDE says the requirement begins July 1, 2028 for covered professional-license renewals. Affected elementary roles (PreK–6) include Reading/ELA, history/government/social studies and special education teachers; school psychologists, reading specialists and administrators. Qualifying routes include approved training or passing an approved exam. Confirm your individual circumstances with your district.

How does exam preparation compare with approved training?

Kansas offers two qualifying routes: complete approved training or pass an approved exam. Approved training options include scheduled cohorts, university programs with tuition support for eligible educators, and self-paced training. For the exam route, free and paid study resources are available. Ready Literacy offers a structured, self-paced prep course; course completion alone does not satisfy the requirement.

How should I choose an exam and prep course?

Check your existing qualifications and your district’s plan, then confirm that your chosen preparation covers the exact approved exam you intend to take. Course access, exam registration and submission of your qualifying result are distinct steps.

What if my district already has a training plan?

Coordinate with your district before purchasing. Ready Literacy is for educators choosing exam preparation. Approved training is another qualifying route, including KBOR’s Foundations pathway with tuition support for eligible educators.
